It is that time of year when we are "supposed" to feel gratitude. But what IS this feeling and how DO we feel it on a genuine level in our bodies?
It can be hard to feel gratitude when your brain and body are all clogged up with scarcity mindset- the idea of not being enough, not having enough. As a teenager, I was trained to drink up self-hatred like milk and it was slowly killing my spirit making me small & weak.
When I first met my yoga mentor, Ana Forrest, she said, "You need to learn how to take up space in this world. We can hardly see you. You deserve to be seen". I started a quest to feel worthy enough to take up space in my body and in my community. It all started with taking up space on my yoga mat.
To my surprise, I found out that gratitude and self love are learnable skills so I practiced them. It turns out that gratitude is a healing balm that soothes the deep wound of not-enoughness. I slowly began to cultivate a deep sense of self worth.
Today I would like to share with you one of the most potent tools I have discovered in cultivating gratitude. Click the link below to enjoy a recording of my version of this potent meditation from my teacher, Ana Forrest.
BRAID OF TRUTH MEDITATION, on Cultivating Self-Love & Gratitude (9 mins)
On this holiday weekend I want to extend a personal thank you to YOU for being a part of my healing journey. I hope that practicing together has enhanced your life in some way. Thank you for all that you contribute to our growing yoga community. Hope to see you soon on the mat.

"Gratitude is a necessary daily nutrient for the evolving Soul. Feed your heart, cell tissue and Spirit every day. By doing this, you recalibrate your brain function. This new paradigm, nourished by gratitude, creates a massive shift into a rich and fulfilling life adventure." - Ana Forrest
